I`ve made a lot of agreements in the health sector, both in the private and public sectors, and I`ve never seen anything like it.” About 50 Allied health workers attended the rally outside the South Brisbane hospital on Wednesday afternoon and asked management to listen to their concerns. Queensland Health has seven important agreements that prescribe wages and other conditions of employment for workers (excluding executives and executives). In a written statement, Justin Greenwell, The Regional Executive Director of Mater Health, said he wanted to conclude a new enterprise agreement for physicians that would “balance the best interests of both workers and health services.” Nurses and midwives have not received a pay increase for nearly two years and the organization has rejected the UNQ`s request to pass on a pay increase through an administrative increase while negotiations are over. In addition, the organization threatened its nurses and midwives that if the agreement was rejected by them in the vote, Mater would withdraw the offer of reimbursement from the table. While the awards are presented by the Queensland Industrial Relations Commission (QIRC), agreements are negotiated by Queensland Health and Queensland Health staff representatives.
